Brian & Erin
“We knew we were meant to be parents and decided adoption was the right choice for us. We are looking forward to this experience and can’t wait to be parents”
Ages: 40 and 38
Other Kids: None
Preferences: Caucasian/Hispanic, Either Gender, Newborn
How We Met: We met in 2008 when Brian’s soccer team was looking for an extra girl and Erin answered the online ad to join the team. We were friends for a while before we started dating, all while playing on the same team. After 5 years of dating we got married in downtown Chicago in 2013.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Erin is an honest and hard-working person who makes sure to find time to spend with me, but also our friends and family. Erin sets and achieves goals and keeps the two of us on schedule. She is a great person to try new things with – restaurants, travel destinations, or making a new recipe. She is very respectful of everyone she meets and I know that as a mother she will pass that along, with all the other qualities I love about her, to the child that comes into our family. Brian is a very honest and loyal person, and he is an animal lover. Brian loves walking Larry (our dog) and letting all the neighbors pet him. Brian has been talking about all the things he wants to teach our child for years now: respecting others, how to read, and how to kick a soccer ball. Brian’s dad passed away in 2009. Brian and his father were best friends, so he looks forward to having a similar bond with his child as he did with his father.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We love spending time with our nephew and niece, whether it be an overnight baby-sit, taking them to the park, or to the aquarium. We love traveling the world and look forward to taking our child on these adventures with us. On Saturdays in the fall, we spend our day watching and cheering on our favorite college football teams. We also enjoy playing sports such as soccer, golf, and running. We both love to cook at home, read, listen to music, and take our dog Larry for walks in the neighborhood.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have always known we wanted to have kids. We spent several years trying to have a baby on our own as well as undergoing various fertility treatments. Unfortunately, we discovered we are not able to have children. We knew we were meant to be parents and decided adoption was the right choice for us. We are looking forward to this experience and can’t wait to be parents!
