How We Met: We met at a small group through our church. Soon after meeting, Chad moved across the country. Our entire dating relationship was spent with us living in different states and time zones. While this was difficult, it proved to be very valuable for us to learn how to communicate well and deepen our love and gratitude for one another. Soon before we got married, Chad moved back to Iowa. We absolutely love being married and spending every day together. We are the best of friends and soul mates.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Chad is kind, friendly, steady and selfless. He loves being around people and building close relationships. Chad is very family-oriented, and has very close relationships with our parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews. He is also incredibly servant-hearted, and is always quick to help others. Sarah is kind, patient, easy-going, and compassionate. The first thing that attracted Chad to her was that she has a heart of gold. She is a good listener, and genuinely cares about the people around her. As an aunt, teacher, and youth leader at church, Sarah has a heart for children and makes connections with them very easily.
Our Hobbies and Interests: As a couple, we love to go on adventures. We love traveling and learning about new places around the world. We also enjoy going to live sporting events and concerts, as we both enjoy watching a variety of sports and listening to music. While we like to be active, we also value our time at home as well. We often play board games, do puzzles, or watch movies together. Church activities are a big part of our lives, as we are very involved in our church community. Regardless of what we are doing, spending time together is our favorite thing.
Why We Want to Adopt: Both of us have had a desire to adopt for a long time. Even before we married, we shared our hopes and dreams to adopt in the future. We believe that adoption is beautiful, although not without heartache. Adoption provides a way for a child to experience deep, sacrificial love from both their first parents and adoptive parents, which is an amazing gift. After losing a baby to stillbirth and another to miscarriage, we have experienced unexplained infertility for over a year and a half, so we believe that now is the right time for us to adopt. Being parents would bring us so much joy, and we pray that we get to be a part of a precious child’s adoption story someday soon.
