How We Met: We met on an internet date on a snowing evening in Boston back in 2015. Immediately we discovered our passion for good food and messing with the waiter who kept on picking up our dropped napkins and making them into ornate origami animals. This was swiftly followed by our second date, pub trivia where we found yet more in common; love for music, movies, travelling, laughs, being silly when the opportunity arises and just having fun…..and as they say the rest is history.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Eric is an optimistic, energetic, fun guy who would move heaven and earth for any of his family and friends. He has a great sense of humor and he is a lot of fun which is infectious to all of those around him. Gemma shares the same sense of humor, she is fun and is always thinking of others first. Gemma is the organizer whether it be for home projects, vacations, or friends and family gatherings. We both share similar values and are rarely on different pages. We are both very committed to making the most out of life and have found that our sense of fun and humor is the key to navigating whatever life throws at us.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We are an active couple – we love to travel, explore new places and experience new adventures. Music plays a big part of our lives – Eric has several guitars; Gemma likes to sing and we both have friends who are in bands that we try to attend gigs as often as we can. We are both big peloton fans as well as getting outside on our bicycles. We also like to explore new places with our dog, Molly.

Why We Want to Adopt: We have always known that we wanted to have children, but Gemma knew she had polycystic ovary syndrome and that we might have a tough time conceiving. After 5 years of infertility/IVF treatments and three losses we have turned to adoption to help us start the family we have always dreamed of. Adoption is something we have always been open to and keen on whether it be for starting or growing our family. We have friends who are adopted and friends who have adopted – seeing it from both sides we know that we have so much love to give and it doesn’t matter how that child comes to us….we see how adoption builds families and the love that it brings.
