How We Met: We met in 2008 on E-Harmony (before online dating was “cool”). Jayme was living in New York City and Matt was in Omaha, Nebraska. We Spent about three months getting to know each other though phone calls-lots and lots of phone calls, sometimes all night-before Matt finally flew to NYC for 4th of July weekend to meet in-person for the first time. Fireworks sparked! Jayme moved to Omaha about six weeks later, we were engaged two after that, and married the following March. We’ve now been together more than 11 years.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other:  Matt is fiercely loyal to those he loves, quick to put others first, will do anything for his family, has a deep passion for justice, is kind and sensitive, and a brilliant, deep, thinker. Jayme is the optimistic light of our family. Her instincts and intelligence have helped lead not only her own company sucessfully but our family as well. She is brave, strong, joyful, and kind. She is a consistent source of courage and encouragement.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We love to travel and explore new places and cultures. We just took a trip to London as a family this spring! We love cultural events like exploring museums, trying new food, going to concerts, and theater. We are both big music lovers (with Matt being a gifted musician and Jayme being a great singer) so we attend concerts of our favorite artists regularly. We often have impromtu dance parties and karaoke sessions at home.

Why We Want to Adopt: Our five-year-old son, Ephram is adopted and is the GREATEST joy of our lives. He’s been asking for a sibling for some time now! We want to love another child and provide him with a sister or brother to care for and have a shared experience with of being adopted. He will be the BEST big brother and we are so excited to have another child to love, nurture, and support for a lifetime.
