How We Met: We met in the spring of 2003 in the church youth group where both of our families attended. When we first met, Andrew was preparing to start college 6 hours away while I was finishing my final two years of high school. As we spent more time together, we found that we shared many interests and a mutual love of cheeseburgers and ice cream. As Andrew left for college, we were optimistic that we’d keep in touch and found that our affection grew despite the distance. I (Sarah) began my education at the same college as Andrew and we both graduated in 2008 and married later that year.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Andrew is a gracious, introspective, patient, and humble man. His wisdom and kindness translate to an empathetic and heartfelt man who cares deeply for his family. Sarah is a caring, joyful woman who has a great sense of humor. She doesn’t get easily overwhelmed and enjoys taking the time to get to know her children individually. We are both very committed to our marriage and family and desire to teach our children to be thankful in all circumstances and to remain grateful for even life’s smallest blessings, knowing that all that we have comes from the Lord.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are a very active family and enjoy traveling near and far for new experiences. Locally, we have memberships to the local zoo, science museum and frequent parks and playgrounds. As our children have gotten older, we have enjoyed taking longer road trips to various destinations including family visits, the beach and tourist attractions. Our children participate in sports including baseball, swimming and ballet. We also enjoy playing board games, reading books, attending church and watching movies together. We both love being parents and take much joy in the time spent with our children.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have considered adoption since we were newly engaged and were discussing hopes for our future family. With the birth of each child to our family, we have felt our hearts grow. We want to continue to share this love and laughter with a new addition to our family. We have a deep love for children and a desire to provide a warm home where the life of an adopted child is valued, nurtured, and celebrated because each life is made in the image of God. Together, our whole family looks forward to welcoming a new member to love and cherish forever.
