How We Met: We met online in Philadelphia in 2011, where we had both moved for school. After a great second date when we both laughed at an awkward waiter and an incredibly bad comedy show, we knew we had found something special. We got married in 2014 in Philadelphia, and after completing school in 2016 we moved to the Boston area, where we have been since.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Bryan is one of the most genuine, kind, and overall good human beings Lael knows. He sees the good in everyone and is never judgmental. Lael loves watching Bryan with Alia – he is a loving, patient father, and it is clear when he is with her that she brings him total happiness. Bryan loves that Lael is incredibly compassionate. She works as a family doctor – her devotion is amazing, and there is nothing she wouldn’t do to help her patients. Lael never takes herself too seriously and can always make Bryan and Alia laugh by making silly animal noises or just being goofy!
Our Hobbies and Interests: As a family, we often enjoy a good day just playing with toys we have in the house or going for walks and stroller rides in the neighborhood. We do love spending time with close friends and family whenever possible. For Christmas we fly to Las Vegas to be with Bryan’s parents, and for Jewish holidays we head to Lael’s family. We love traveling to be with the people we love, and our 2-year-old daughter Alia enjoys traveling too! We love the outdoors and being in nature. We love listening to many types of music, and Alia loves to join in and sing.
Why We Want to Adopt: After years of undergoing fertility treatments and several scary medical complications, we decided to pursue adoption as the way to build our family. In July 2020 we welcomed our daughter Alia into our family, and she brought light and joy back into our lives and confirmed just how much we wanted to be parents. Together, the three of us have had a blast growing together and sharing all of life’s experiences, and we are eager to adopt another child to make our family and lives even fuller.
