How We Met: We met at church! Carter had just moved to Kyla’s small town, and we were introduced to each other on a Sunday morning. A friendship developed and we looked forward to seeing each other more and more. Kyla’s family began inviting Carter to their family farm in the evenings for dinner (Kyla jokes that she wasn’t sure at the time if he liked her or the food better!). It turns out, they were falling in love.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Carter is so kind, thoughtful, smart, loving, and patient. He really cares for people whether it is at home or at work, his love for people really shows. He can connect with pretty much everyone he meets. Kyla is so kind and caring for all the people she runs in to. She always wants what is best for people and she only thinks about the best qualities in people. She is a blessing to whoever she meets, she is always thinking of ways to bless people and to be a blessing. Carter and Kyla just love children and can’t wait for the opportunity to be parents.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are a young, fun, energetic, and loving Christian couple. Our priority is that our children are raised to know God’s love and we are looking forward to filling our home with SO MUCH love and laughter. On a typical day off or weekend we love to spend our time driving and hiking around the gorgeous landscapes, spending quality time on Kyla’s family farm, or going to visit Carter’s family cabin on a lake. We are involved in our church and also attend many events around our area whether it’s a hockey game, outdoor event, community event, or church event. We just love outdoor activities and our wonderful/fun community! There is so much to do here. We love to eat healthy and enjoy cooking, so most evenings we make homemade dinners, then do something fun together. Carter’s favorite hobbies are hiking, photography, golf, and mentoring. Kyla’s favorite hobbies are hiking, cooking, gardening, and nutrition. Family traditions are so important to us. We LOVE celebrating birthdays and holidays! We love our community and spending time with family (we have quite a few young nieces and nephews). Our families are very close, and we can’t wait to add to our family. We have a mid-sized Goldendoodle named Copper. He absolutely LOOOOOVES kids and enjoys playing with them or cuddling. He has lots of skills and is so much fun! He goes on all our travel adventures with us!
Why We Want to Adopt: We have dreamt of having children both biologically and through adoption since even before we got married. After several unsuccessful infertility treatments, we felt like it was the right time to move forward on our exciting adoption journey. We believe adoption is the right path for us and we can’t wait for our family to be blessed with a precious child through adoption. We hope you feel our love through our story and dreams. Know that we think of you and pray for you specifically as well as your child every day. It is important to us your child understands your love for them and the tremendous decisions you made from love. We will love them unconditionally and support them in their hopes and dreams. We would be honored if you choose us to parent your child.
