How We Met: We’ve been together for more than ten years. We went to the same high school and reconnected when we ran into each other over the holidays many years later. We started dating and quickly understood that we shared similar goals and wanted to build a life together. Our relationship is built on trust and communication. We know we can count on each other. Above all, we laugh together.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Chris is easy to talk to, affectionate, and open. He has a quick wit and is always making others laugh. He is devoted to our family and loves spending time with our daughter and our relatives. Chris is generous and always thinking of ways to grow relationships with friends and family. Lindsey is caring, attentive, and passionate about mentoring and education. She loves to celebrate others’ happiness and success, and being a mother is her greatest joy. Together we are committed to our marriage and family through all of life’s highs and lows.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We encourage courtesy and kindness in our home life and do our best to foster learning. We love hosting friends and family for meals or movie nights. When the weather is nice, we often go for family bike rides. We are passionate about travel, whether visiting friends overseas, checking out a cool urban arts district, or enjoying the natural beauty of God’s creation. Chris has hiked Grand Teton, Zion (in the snow!), and Glacier National Parks. Lindsey has taught in Europe and played in a band. With our daughter, we have visited the Everglades, Disney World, and the Peak 2 Peak Gondola in Canada (where we saw a grizzly bear!), and made several beach trips. While we value adventure, we also spend a lot of quiet time at home. We have breakfast and dinner together every night and do a lot of baking, reading, and art projects. We are fortunate to live in a friendly, walkable neighborhood where we often visit with our neighbors.
Why We Want to Adopt: Parenting our daughter has been the greatest blessing of our lives, and while we treasure our little family, we know that we have more love to give to another child. We continue to grow personally and spiritually in the care that we provide as parents. We have seen the joys and challenges of adoption through our extended family, and we believe we have the knowledge and life experience that prepares us well to expand our family in this way. Diversity—embracing the value of each individuals’ gifts and background—is a shared value of ours, and we honor the unique role of adoption in creating family.
