How We Met: We met at the university we both worked at. Damien noticed how passionate Carolina is and completely fell in love with her, and he convinced her to speak French with him every week. Carolina enjoyed his stories, his cooking, and soon noticed how much safety and joy he creates around himself. After a year, we moved in together: the first thing we created was an old traditional kitchen, with cast iron and copper pots and hanging ladles. To this day, we still discover new reasons to love, admire, and laugh with each other.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Damien is a good-hearted man who fights for those in need, always working hard to protect our home and make us safe. He is fun too! I saw him once, all dressed up, with an apron, decorating plates with small flowers: he brings beauty and care all around him. Carolina is the rock of our marriage. She is strong and gentle and is always bringing light to our home with singing and dancing. She is incredibly bright: I am filled with admiration every time she presents in front of a big crowd, or when I see students run to see her in the street. Living with Carolina is having peace about tomorrow.
Our Hobbies and Interests: Our passions are so different, yet so similar! Carolina had a traditional dance company, and Damien sailed on oceans since he was little. Together, we love keeping our family traditions: fishing and baking for Damien, crafts for Carolina. We feel so lucky to be able to do all of that with both of our families! We also love to see each other play with children. Carolina just seems to know how to bring fun and playfulness into their lives. Damien is the activity and books guy, always into gardening and reading with his nieces!
Why We Want to Adopt: We want to build a family, because we see the beautiful things, we each can give – and family is about sharing more than you can bring on your own. But not long ago, we understood that we could not have children naturally, even after trying with IVF. This didn’t diminish our dreams of building a close family and sharing a strong home and a stable life. Today, as you read this, we hope you feel safe in any of the choices that you make, including, if you choose our family to adopt your child. If you choose us, we promise to help your child grow in a place surrounded by warmth, love, and happiness, and we commit to helping them build the best future for themselves.
