How We Met: Our story begins when we met in kindergarten… and 3 years later we were married! We weren’t five years old when we met, we were both educators who just happened to be teaching at the same elementary school. Whether it was destiny or just pure luck, we quickly figured out that our paths had crossed for a reason. As we each watched each other pouring our hearts into these children, we couldn’t help but imagine doing that one day for our own children. And in seeing that, we grew fonder of each other every day. Sharing so many of the same values, we began to see a future together that was undeniable. We’ve been married now for almost twenty years, and our love and appreciation for one another continues to grow.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: It was so endearing to see Enrique with the children as a kindergarten teacher, and how much they adored him. He continues to prove that he has an incredibly kind heart, an amazing sense of humor, and is both strong and gentle. He’s my best friend, my biggest fan, my rock. He not only makes me laugh every day, but he has always been so supportive in every way. Melody is the most unselfish, sensitive, and caring person I have ever known. She is loving, faithful, loyal, and has supported my educational journey and career. She taught me the importance of balancing work and home life and helped me realize that being home with my family is the most important way to provide for them.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We enjoy outdoor activities like biking, hiking, tennis, and going to the beach; but we also love cuddling up to watch movies. We have traditions every season. In the fall, we have fun watching football games, picking apples, and visiting pumpkin patches. Winter brings holiday boat parades, musical light shows, and local performances before we travel to see family. We enjoy gardening in the Spring and watching the ducklings following their parents in our pond. Our clubhouse is the place to be in the Summer for family and community celebrations, barbecues, and swimming. Hot summer days are also a great time for boat rides and for trips to the Florida Keys.
Why We Want to Adopt: Our faith leads us to believe it was fate. As educators, we spent over two decades forming positive relationships with parents, who trusted us to nurture and educate their children. It’s our hope that we will partner with someone who will bless us with the opportunity to share our home, our lives, our love with a precious newborn child. Not one day goes by that we don’t speak and dream about becoming parents. We want to be able to share with a child all the blessings that we’ve been given, and to be able to use what we have learned over the years to provide a future child with an amazing life filled with love and happiness.
