How We Met: We met on eHarmony. Eric saw a picture of Jenn with her dog Mica and just knew he had to get to know her. After a couple weeks of phone calls, we finally met in person and within a few more weeks we knew we’d be married. On a sunny afternoon the day after Jenn released her 3rd graders for the summer, we found ourselves sitting on the grass in the park next to her school discussing our future together. When we realized we didn’t necessarily need a ring to get engaged (it was still being made) Eric popped the question and Jenn said yes! It was the easiest decision. Mica was the ring bearer at our wedding and our partner-in-crime the first few years of marriage before he passed away in 2019.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Jenn keeps the trains on time for the family and Eric is the engineer who keeps the locomotive running; we make a great team! Family is our number one priority after our faith and everything we do is designed to give our children the best experience, education and home life possible. Eric is a senior leader in the military and is a people person who loves bringing the best out of people. Jenn is a gentle mom and a refuge for our children to snuggle when they skin a knee or just want a hug.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We try to get out as much as possible though COVID has prevented us from going beyond our neighborhood and the local park for the moment. Before the pandemic, Saturday was family day for us and we would try to go out on small day trips to Washington D.C., Annapolis, short hikes or the Chesapeake Bay. Our hope is to give our children the broadest view of the world possible through giving them the greatest experiences. Jenn has dedicated her time as a stay-at-home mom to preparing our children for a Classical Christian education that focuses on grammar, logic and rhetoric. It has become her passion. When the kids are in bed, we’re avid movie watchers but are currently hooked on the series “This is Us,” which is centered on an adoptive family.
Why We Want to Adopt: Since before we ever met, we have wanted to adopt; our hearts have always been aligned that way. Eric has several adopted family members on his side of the family to include his stepmother, cousin and niece. We also have several friends who are adoptive parents. On our very first date we talked about adopting and was one of the many aspects that really made us click as a couple. After having our two boys we knew it was time to adopt and bring a third child into the fold. We absolutely love being parents, and our boys bring us so much joy (they’re so good together!). We feel it is our calling to adopt a child into the family to share the love and happiness of our lives.
