How We Met: We met at church and had an instant connection. We were drawn to each other since we valued the same things. I was drawn to Gus’ big heart, love for God and ability to make me laugh. Gus says he loved my fun-loving spirit, lovingness for others, and my faith. After two years of dating, Gus proposed at his house with a trail of roses, candles, and letters explaining how much he loved me. The trail ended on his back porch where he asked me to be his wife.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Gus is extremely hard working and generous. I love his big heart and appreciate his deep faith. He is also steady, dependable, and a great leader. I love that Gus is a very present Dad. Gus always makes time for our family and we all know we are loved because he’s around. Amanda is the glue that holds our family together. She is caring and motherly but also very fun and has a lot of energy. She’s extremely attentive to our boys and likes to be involved in their activities.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We are a very active family. We love to travel and go to new places as a family. We also enjoy going to sporting events as a family. Our boys are active in basketball, football and baseball. We love to watch them do the things they love. We also love to have our friends and family over to hang out and play games. Gus loves to golf, hunt and fish. Amanda loves to read, watch movies and do puzzles.

Why We Want to Adopt: Amanda has wanted to adopt since she was a little girl and since getting married, we’ve known we wanted to grow our family through adoption at some point. After a recent mission trip together as a family, we all agreed now is the right time! Our family has so much love to give, and we are so excited to be able to extend that love and to add to our family.
