How We Met: We met online in 2011. Jay winked at Lauren’s profile as soon as he saw it. After talking online, we decided to meet in person. Our first date was going out to dinner for Chinese food. After dinner, we didn’t want the date to end, so we went bowling- which is where we had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding a few years later. Jay texted Lauren after the date asking for another one, and we have been together ever since.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Jay says “Lauren is my favorite person to adventure with because she is up for anything. She is very supportive of everything I do and is always positive and upbeat. She gives a true energy to our household, and everything she cooks is delicious! I love how supportive she is of my family, and I know she is going to make a great mom someday because she is so thoughtful and patient.”
Lauren says “Jay and I are very different, but share the same values, balancing each other out in the best ways. I know Jay to be a great problem solver and kind to everyone he meets. He always knows how make me laugh, listens to me, and be my best friend. I know Jay is going to make a great dad because he is a little kid at heart.”
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are very active and love being together. Some of our favorite things to do together include going for long walks, taking trips around New England, eating, or going to a football or baseball game. We love finding new hiking trails, beaches, and city streets to explore, and we travel all over New England to see minor and major league teams play. Lauren’s favorite things to do are going to the beach and cooking- she loves reading about and trying new recipes. Jay’s favorite things to do are riding his motorcycle and bicycle and fixing things around the house when he isn’t working on the bikes.
Why We Want to Adopt: We are SO excited to adopt a child! Adoption is something we talked about very early in our relationship because it is something we have always wanted to pursue, whether we had biological children or not. We don’t have any children and are ready and excited to be focusing on adoption to add a little one to our family.
