Why I Haven’t Married: I always thought I would get married, but I also always took marriage seriously and never wanted to make the choice to get married just to get married. If I were going to get married, I wanted it to be for life and with the right person. In my early thirties I found myself still single and then I decided to move to West Africa. Since moving to West Africa, I have remained single, and I love my life here and am happy being single. Though I am not opposed to getting married, I enjoy the different opportunities to travel and explore new adventures that I have because I am single.
Qualities Others Love, Admire and Respect About Me: People describe me as caring, relational and thoughtful. Those who know me well know that relationships are important to me, that I strive to be trustworthy and that I love cheering others on and seeing them succeed. They would say I am a fabulous cook and an organized neat freak, but that I also can be spontaneous and fun-spirited.
My Hobbies and Interest: I love traveling to new & exciting places and am always up for a new adventure with my sisters or friends. I am a foodie at heart – so I love trying new foods and finding the best ice cream shops wherever I am. I also love to stay active and try new things. Some of the activities I enjoy include stand-up paddle boarding, hiking, playing pickleball & volleyball and exploring new places. I love hanging out with friends, in their home or mine, to share a good meal and play strategy games. I love sports and enjoy spending my free time watching my favorite teams, especially the Atlanta Braves.
Why I Want to Adopt: Being a mom has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember. I always planned to get married and start a family. However, this plan didn’t work out the way I thought it would. In my early 20’s, I started thinking about adoption and at the time thought I would adopt once I was married. As time went on, I realized I would make a great mom even if I were still single and thought about adoption off and on over the years. It has taken me a while to get to the point where I believe the time is right, but I am in a good place now to start the process of making my dream of having a child come true.
