How We Met: We met each other a few times in college. After Joe graduated, Kate’s mom invited him for dinner because they enjoyed entertaining people. Being a single guy, he didn’t hesitate at the invitation for a home-cooked meal! After that dinner, we started to spend more time together. We quickly fell in love, and six months later, Joe proposed to Kate!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Joe is incredibly committed, honest, peaceful, and kind. He has a strength of character, doesn’t give up, and has a deep sense of integrity. He is easygoing with a playful personality and a great sense of humor.

Kate is incredibly loyal and has a tender heart. She cares for the people around her, has a personality that draws people to her, and loves to laugh. She is resilient, and when life gets hard, she continues to stay positive.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We enjoy spending time with each other, our family, our dogs, and our friends. We also like to go to CrossFit together, explore new places, go hiking, go on vacations, go to various sporting events like college football and hockey games, and relax at home.

Why We Want to Adopt: Kate has always had a heart for adoption. While growing up, Kate’s family was involved in foster care, and she saw firsthand how families could be built through adoption. Once we were married, we knew that adoption was how we wanted to grow our family.
