How We Met: We were introduced by Kyle’s best friend after our freshman year of college. We lived in different states and went to different schools, but our personalities clicked and our friendship grew quickly. After college, our close friendship developed into a romantic relationship. We dated long-distance for two years. After a year of finally living near each other, Kyle took Laura to the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC at night to “see the Christmas lights.” Little did she know that the lights she would see was a sign made of twinkle lights spelling out “Marry me?” After Laura said “Yes!” a large crowd of tourists cheered and gave us a spontaneous round of applause. Afterward, our friends were waiting with cupcakes and champagne to celebrate.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Laura is kind, gentle, giving, compassionate, selfless, diligent, tidy, personable, and social. She feels incredibly deeply and is always charitable. She discerns with a truly prudent heart and has the courage to act on her convictions. She is the most loving, virtuous person I’ve ever known. I first fell in love with Kyle because he was always making me laugh. I was drawn to his determination as I witnessed him joyfully overcome every challenge that crossed his path. No matter what he faced, nothing ever seemed to rattle him. The more I got to know him, the more I learned that Kyle has an incredible blend of intelligence, resilience, character, and wit.
Our Hobbies and Interests: Our marriage is built on a strong foundation of faith, friendship, and deep mutual respect. We love spending time together and always keep each other laughing. We are truly best friends. We pray together every morning and night and always strive to put one another first, remembering how grateful we are to be in each other’s lives. We enjoy cooking together and spending time with friends and family. We also like going on walks and doing crossword puzzles.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have always wanted to be parents. Even before struggling with infertility, adoption has always been in our hearts. We are deeply humbled by the thought of someone entrusting us with their child and we will always be grateful for such a profound responsibility.
