How We Met: We initially worked together at the same Cardiac ICU. We had a respectful friendship at work. Manny left to Anesthesia school first and we later bumped into each other while playing in a community kickball league. From there we reconnected and instantly felt a strong connection which led to us dating and committing to a serious relationship. We supported each other while we both went to Nurse Anesthesia school during different years which deepened our bond, love, and amazement for one another. After graduation and 5.5 years of being together we got married on a beautiful evening in October 2018.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Manny is kindhearted, genuine, and outgoing with a great sense of humor. He is the life of the party anywhere he goes yet he knows how to connect with people on such a personal level making him a very lovable person. Rebeca has a heart of gold, a gentle soul, and has a smile and sweetness about her that wins over anyone who meets her almost immediately. She always looks for the best in people and has a lot of love to give to those around her. We are both very compatible, and we share the same life goals and values. We have a loving relationship that thrives on each other’s support, respect, and love.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We share the same passion for traveling and love for the outdoors. One of our bucket list items is to visit every National Park in the U.S. We would love to continue this tradition with a future child or children and show them the beauty of the outdoors and other cultures that are outside of our own. Manny is into Volleyball and exercising, while Rebeca is into Photography and reading. We both support each other’s passion and interests acting as each other’s cheerleader and motivating the other to do what they love. Aside from travel, we cherish our family time at home, spending quality time together, talking about life, watching movies, and planning home cooked meals together.
Why We Want to Adopt: Manny and I talked about having children from early on including the idea of adopting, but we decided to wait until we finished our schooling to be able to give a child, or children a better life with financial stability. When the time came to try, we had 2 miscarriages and an unsuccessful round of IVF. In the end, we both made peace with not having our own biological children and we decided we would be just as happy and open to adopting a child or children. We know we will give all our love to any child that we are lucky enough to adopt. We have been eager to start a family for a few years and our desire only grows stronger by the day.
