How We Met: We met online in 2016 and quickly found a shared love of music, baking, travel, teaching, faith, Hogwarts, hobbits, and more. We got married in 2017 and have grown a strong trust in each other and a deep friendship. Being married is like finally coming home for us. Our marriage is a place where we can be ourselves, while also taking every opportunity to help each other thrive.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Mark says, “I love how Charlotte puts her heart and attention into all she does and how she cares for others so deeply.” Charlotte says, “I love Mark’s genuine kindness, his sense of humor, and his playfulness with our daughter Madeleine.”
Our Hobbies and Interests: We have many shared interests and activities. We love going to music concerts, from the symphony to rock, and enjoy the challenge of a cooperative board game. Mark makes the best kettle corn which we often enjoy while watching things like reality TV shows from Japan or the Great British Baking Show. Being outdoors refreshes us, and an ideal weekend would include a bike ride or a paddle in our canoe with Madeleine.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have one biological daughter and always wanted to have another child but were unable to due to infertility. We are drawn to adoption because we want to love, support and honor the birth parents who have chosen adoption and their child. This is one way we desire to show our faith in loving other people. We strongly believe in the benefits of open adoption and will welcome you as part of the family in whatever ways feel most comfortable for you.
