How We Met: We met on the first day of orientation in business school and happened to be in a group assigned to take all our first semester classes together. One afternoon, a few days into the semester, we decided to study together, and we never looked back! Over time, our relationship evolved from teammates to best friends to couple. We’ll always think about the fact that we each almost attended different schools and decided on our school at the last minute. We’re very thankful that fate brought us together!
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Sarah says, “Michael is smart, funny, kind, and generous. He is a strong and loving partner. Michael is very good at finding a balance between home and work life and is the most dedicated father.” Michael says, “Sarah’s ability to bounce between the most important tasks is amazing. She can handle anything thrown her way. She is caring and compassionate, especially to our daughter. She also laughs at my jokes!” The one thing we have most in common is how much we love spending time together as a family.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are both big sports fans, we love trying out new restaurants, and we read as much as we can. Above all else, we love spending time outside, and try to find adventures near and far. We are fortunate to live in a great family-friendly neighborhood, with many parks, lakes, and playgrounds. A weekend doesn’t go by without us finding a new spot to enjoy. We also love to travel and have visited nineteen countries. Lastly, we can’t let a summer go by without finding a few great concerts. Music is a huge part of our lives, and we have after dinner dance parties with our daughter every night.
Why We Want to Adopt: We always knew we wanted a family. When it became clear that medical risks for Sarah would prevent us from having biological children, we knew that we wanted to grow our family through adoption. We have now gone through the adoption process once with our daughter Nora, and we know how beautiful it can be – we would be so honored to bring home another child the same way.
