How We Met: We met on match.com! We emailed back and forth for a while before we met in person. We became best friends and realized that we had so much in common – our birthdays are one day apart, and we share similar interests and life goals. We bonded over our love of Star Wars and Marvel movies – Captain America was our first movie date!

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: We have both dedicated our lives to serving and helping others. Mike was in the Army for almost 20 years and Bonnie has been a nurse for over 20 years and has spent most of her nursing career caring for children when they have surgery. We are both loving, patient, and kind and strong and supportive to each other and those we love.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We are a very active family, and our life is family focused. We love to travel, explore new places and experience new adventures. We also enjoy spending quiet time as a family playing board games, watching movies together, having family dinners and just sitting down and talking to each other. We are active in our community – Mike is the state chairman for Veteran Suicide Awareness and Prevention, and we are very involved in our Veteran Community year-round. We cannot wait to have a little one to care for and to share our life with.

Why We Want to Adopt: We knew from the beginning of our relationship that we wanted to have children together. Mike has a young adult daughter from a previous marriage who lives across the country, but we have a great relationship with her. Mike was in the military on active duty and missed a lot of her childhood and he is looking forward to all the special moments that we will have with a child. We have always had a heart for adoption and always talked about growing our family through adoption in addition to having biological children. Over time we learned that together we could not have biological children, so we believe that God is leading us to this path of adoption to grow our family. We have so much love to give and cannot wait to become parents together.
