How We Met: We met May 2017 one night at a leader camp and shared the same hammock amongst other friends. The funny part about this is that Samantha tweeted out months prior that she and her college roommate would meet their future husbands at this camp and on May 28, 2017… little did Samantha know, she was right!
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Patrick embodies what it means to be a leader. I admire how kind and generous he is to others. I respect how much effort he puts into everything he does. I love watching him coach because you can see his love for helping the next generation grow. He is also hilarious which is another plus! Samantha truly exemplifies what means to be a woman of faith which is one of the many things I admire about her. She is sacrificial and is always willing to listen first and talk second. I really respect her creativity and her determination in what she sets her mind too. I’m biased but I would also put her in the hall of fame of baking which I absolutely love!
Our Hobbies and Interests: Our family is built off community, our love for one another, and laughter. Together we enjoy going for walks around our neighborhood, playing card/board games, hosting others in our home, and spending time together on our front porch! We also enjoy renovating our house and completing DIY projects. Patrick is an avid distance runner. He also enjoys reading, watching sports, golfing, and grilling out. Samantha enjoys interior design and hopes to make it a side career someday. She also enjoys baking, cooking, gardening, and reading.
Why We Want to Adopt: We love children and cannot wait to be parents! When deciding how to start our family we have been prayerful about being open-handed in what God has for us. We both have always wanted to grow our family through adoption as we feel deeply connected to adoption. We both have personal ties to adoption from our families and friends. Patrick’s mother was also a birth mom and created an adoption plan for a baby while she was in college. Samantha has an aunt and uncle who have adopted and has multiple friends who were adopted. We have a deep respect and empathy for all expectant parents who are looking into adoption because of our relationships with those impacted by adoption.
