How We Met: We met at work almost 15 years ago at Amanda’s family’s store. Paul came in during his lunch break, and often says that he was in love with Amanda as soon as she smiled at him. He ended up applying for a job just to get to know her better. It took Amanda a bit longer, but realized that Paul was the one for her not too long after that. We became close friends first and continued to build a really strong foundation of friendship and love while Amanda completed her college degrees. We dated for about a year and a half before getting engaged over the holidays, and then getting married 10 years ago.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Paul is a dreamer and always thinking of the big picture, while Amanda is the details person. He is smart, spontaneous and loyal. She is kind, genuine, and creative. We even each other out, and bring out each other’s strengths. We make each other laugh, and can make the best out of any situation. We have loved growing together over the years, and are each other’s biggest support system. We love being together and sharing each day together.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We enjoy spending time together as a family, doing just about anything. We spend a lot of our time outside, both in our back yard and exploring the nearby walking and hiking trails. While we do love exploring our community, we enjoy to spend time together at home as well. We love playing games, watching movies and just relaxing together. Since our son, Nathaniel, joined our family four years ago, we have enjoyed getting to explore the museums and parks in our area that we both enjoyed as children. We live close to many of our family and friends, and love to spend time with them as well. Paul loves to build and fix things, especially around the house. Amanda loves to cook and bake, and finds joy in making people happy.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have always known that we wanted to be parents, and started to talk about having a family soon after we got married. We learned that it would not be safe for Amanda to carry any children herself, and quickly decided that we would build our family through adoption. Our sweet son, Nathaniel, joined our family through the gift of adoption, and we could not be more grateful. We are excited to give Nathaniel a sibling and complete our family.
