How We Met: We are Dori and Phil from Texas. We have been married 17 years. We met through a church singles group event at a Texas baseball game. Phil sat next to me at the game and our conversation took off. Originally from France, Phil did not believe I could speak French – but I quickly proved him wrong! (I had studied in France and Quebec while in college). Having common bonds of faith, values and language, we have been together ever since.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Phil is energetic, detail-oriented and has a great sense of humor. He enjoys the outdoors and biking. Dori is kind, dedicated and family oriented. She keeps our family on track and also volunteers in the community. We both believe in hard work and in having aspirational goals, but we also believe in taking time to relax and to appreciate life. We endeavor to do good in the community and help the environment. We want the future to be a bright place for our children and grandchildren.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We are an active family. We like adventure and exploring new places. We enjoy travel. We enjoy visiting with friends and family and seek to strengthen those connections. We volunteer and contribute to the community. Our children participate in different athletic and artistic activities and they like to discuss current events and issues. As a family, we also enjoy simple things like reading, cooking, watching movies and chill time at home.

Why We Want to Adopt: We have always wanted to have children. We are blessed to have 2 biological children but were unsuccessful having more. We would like to expand our family now through adoption. Both of our children are also excited about welcoming another sibling into the family.
