How We Met: We first met in 2015 through online dating site, Christian mingle. Ryan took a job with FedEx, moving him from Alabama to Texas, while Emily was teaching at an elementary school. When we met for our first date at Salt Grass Steakhouse, the connection was almost like a fairytale. We talked continuously about our past, and our future goals. Even though we had just met, we felt like we had known each other for a lifetime. As time went on, the connection only grew stronger, when we both realized that marriage was the next step that we both wanted to make. Only 1 year and 2 months of dating later, we took to our vows and established roots in front of God and family.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Emily is an incredible partner, encourager, and supporter for the family. She excels at connecting with children, and being the bond that the family needs through love and nurture. Ryan is dependable and gracious, and maintains a positive yet silly attitude. He consistently shows up for support when life becomes overwhelming. It is our belief that God and family are the cornerstones that keep life moving, even when hardships come. It is this mentality that we are training Rylee up to understand, and showing her what true love really means.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are a busy family who is always looking forward to the next adventure. Whether that is attending soccer practice and games, dance practice, or spending time traveling and having fun, we stay plenty busy spending time together. We also spend time with Emily’s family for weekly dinners, and Ryan’s family flies in from Alabama almost monthly. Because Emily is a school teacher, there is a lot of free time in the summer, so we plan a large family trip to the beach, mountains, or other points of interest like Washington D.C.
Why We Want to Adopt: Because we are unable to have kids naturally, adoption has always been the answer to completing our family. In 2018, God blessed us with Rylee, and today we are looking to complete our family with a second child. We look forward to the opportunity to bring a new child into our family and know with confidence that God will direct his process and have His hand upon it.
