How We Met: We’ve known each other since we were children! We grew up together in school and church. Even though we had known each other all our lives, when Scott asked me out on a date, I was a bit surprised and hadn’t thought about dating him. Much like our opposite personalities, Scott knew what he wanted but Kim needed some time to process it a bit. Just one of the ways we discovered we balance each other so well! After several months of dating, it became very apparent that we definitely wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Calm and laid-back is what best describes Scott. He has a great sense of humor and I love him for it. He’s very much an animal lover. He also has a caring heart for others and tries to help out wherever he is needed. Scott is a very devoted hardworking Christian husband, and it definitely shows in all he does. Kim is a very fun-loving and dependable person. I love to tell her jokes to watch her roll her eyes but still giggle helplessly! Kim is a woman with a strong faith. She is very devoted to me, our families, and church. She is detail oriented and likes everything to have a place. We are both very committed to our marriage and have learned that going through life is so much better when we can go through it together!
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are both social people and love to do things with friends and family, especially in the evenings. Summer softball games, mini golfing, TopGolf, and going out for dinner are just some of the things we enjoy doing. Traveling is another thing we both enjoy, whether it’s a short-day trip or an extended vacation. Some of our longer trips have taken us to CA since we both have family there.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have always known that we wanted to have children and a family! It definitely surprised us to find out that having biological children was not in our future, but we trust that God is in control of all of the details. Initially, we tried a few rounds of IVF, but they were unsuccessful. Scott has always felt confident knowing if we couldn’t have biological children, there are many children for us to love in whatever way God chooses. We can both truly say we are excited about adoption and are very supported and encouraged on all sides, by family, friends, and church. We can’t wait to grow our family through adoption!
