How We Met: In 2016, we met through mutual friends at the gym- sharing a love for all things fitness and wellness. We quickly realized we both had a “go getter” attitude combined with a strong work ethic. We were instantly drawn to each other, spending countless hours of quality time together whenever we could. Tim’s shy dog, Bear, even took a liking to Dan the first time they met – giving his stamp of approval! To this day, our love for each other continues to strengthen the foundation of our relationship. We are excited to open our arms and home to the possibility of adoption!
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Tim is a hardworking family man- it was clear to me that his family is important to him, and this was one of the first things that attracted me to him. In the gym, he enjoys lifting weights which translates to everyday life where he is dedicated and pushes himself to be better each day. He has a passion for photography, capturing some of our lives’ best moments and travels. Tim has a caring soul: he has a soft spot for animals and it’s clear he’ll be a wonderful father.
Dan is a passionate and extremely kind individual. He comes from a big loving family and is always excited to give his time to help others. Dan has experience with coaching, including gymnastics for both kids and adults and fitness training as well. This passion translates into his personal and work life. Dan is incredibly hardworking and I’m so proud of him for his accomplishments within his career as a physician assistant. Over the years, I have seen Dan interact with his family and friends, as well as mine, and I can’t wait to see him grow into the excellent father I know he will be.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We enjoy spending as much time outdoors as possible- whether we are sharing a meal in our fenced in yard or playing with our two dogs, Bear and Mowgli. We love to travel; we enjoy trips that include adventures for trying new things and having time to relax and enjoy each other’s company. We love to try new foods and use this to explore different cultures; we enjoy eating a homecooked meal or trying a fun new restaurant.
Why We Want to Adopt: As a couple, we have known from the start that we wanted a family. Tim is the oldest of four half siblings, two from each of his biological parents. Dan is the middle child with an older and younger sister. We both also grew up with cousins who we would consider immediate family. As two gay men, we did not always know if starting a family would be a possibility, but we are determined to make it happen. We’ve decided that adoption is the best path for us, allowing us to fulfill our dream of starting a family. We want nothing more than to share our lives with children. We promise to support them in all that they set out to achieve. We have friends and family members that have been adopted and we are excited to grow our family through adoption. If we had to describe our views of adoption to someone else, we would say we’ve seen firsthand the many positives that come from adoption and how those families are some of our favorite people!
