How We Met: We met in college, at a Christian group function. It is hard to describe it as anything other than love at first sight. We were immediately inseparable and knew we would be married one day. That day came two years later when we tied the knot at the same place we first met.
Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Alysha is my partner in life. I love her very much, I feel that she is one of the most generous, caring, loving, and thoughtful people I know. She makes me a better person and continually motivates me through our life. Alysha is always willing to lend a helping hand. More than my wife, Alysha is my best friend. I feel very fortunate to be married to her and have her in my life. She is a great mother to our son, and she deserves another opportunity to be a mother. Zak is a wonderful husband and partner. We work, play, and laugh together daily. He is my rock, and he never ceases to amaze me. He’s compassionate yet strong. He’s loyal and honest. He is a wonderful dad to our son. If I ever doubt myself or get discouraged, he is always there. We always strive to fulfill each other’s needs. I love this man and can’t imagine my life without him. The bond we share is truly a gift.
Our Hobbies and Interests: We are extremely active outside of our medical careers. We enjoy traveling most of all! We enjoy adventuring to new places, but also love simple things like trips to the park. We enjoy family time, eating supper together and we play outside every night. Our family also enjoys athletics. We love supporting our local college and high school sports teams. In fact, a lot of our travel revolves around following our men’s and women’s sports teams across the country.
Why We Want to Adopt: We have always known that we wanted to have children. However, after having our first child, we learned we could not have any more children naturally. It is such a blessing to be a parent. We love and cherish every moment with our now five-year-old. We want to be parents again and grow our family through adoption. Adoption is an integral part of our extended family. Zak’s brothers are adopted so we see firsthand the blessing adoption can be.
