How We Met: We met online and had lunch for our first date. We found out we both love sports and the outdoors so a lot of our first dates involved hiking, attending baseball games, and watching football on the couch. During the next few years we also had a great time traveling around the US on mini vacations. Ted proposed during a surprise Christmas trip to New York City in 2018. He planned the whole trip and it was extra special since Christmas is Amy’s favorite time of year! Four years to the day after our very first date we got married in a small ceremony in our backyard.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: One of Amy’s favorite things about Ted is how thoughtful he is. He’s incredibly patient and a great listener but also likes to be silly and have fun. Ted loves how Amy is loyal, caring, nurturing, and always willing to do things for others. Ted is the more spontaneous one in the pair while Amy is the planner and organizer in the family. We both think that the best thing about our marriage is that we’re best friends and can trust each other with everything.

Our Hobbies and Interests: We love to travel and when the weather is nice we enjoy getting outside and hiking or bike riding. There are a ton of trails around our house and we are within driving distance of the mountains where we like to go on hikes. If the weather isn’t nice out though, we also love having a weekend at home just the two of us with homemade popcorn and a movie. We also have fun playing cards and board games together and enjoy cooking together and watching sports (especially baseball and football).

Why We Want to Adopt: When we were dating we both talked about having kids and Amy’s dream was to grow a family through adoption. Ted has always known he wanted kids and when he learned how Amy felt about adoption she was thrilled to hear that he felt the same way. We have both been very blessed in our lives and we want to be able to share what we have and give those same opportunities and blessings that we’ve been given to a child.
