How We Met: We met while working at a therapeutic boy’s camp in Pennsylvania. Tyler worked as a counselor with the boys while I worked in the kitchen as a cook. Tyler remembers seeing me for the first time, working in the kitchen on my first day at camp, and even what I was wearing! We started dating six months after we first met. We enjoyed many outdoor activities on our dates. We hiked, canoed, walked along the river and had many campfires with friends.

Qualities We Love, Admire and Respect in Each Other: Tyler is focused and can accomplish what he sets out to do. I admire his common sense and calmness. Tyler is a kindhearted man and respects others. I love his love for God and his sensitiveness towards God’s leading in his life. Kelly is a loving dedicated person. She is committed to our family and sacrifices her time and energy to take care of us and our home. She has a tender heart toward me and is forgiving of my shortcomings. I love her for who she is , her wonderful smile, her sense of adventure and her commitment to God and our family!

Our Hobbies and Interests: As a family we enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, swimming, spending time with our dogs and gardening. We love to have relaxing evenings and weekends at home, playing games together, watching a good movie, and just being together enjoying each other’s company. Tyler and I love drinking coffee and often find a coffee shop to sit in and enjoy some coffee together. We are passionate about quality family time and make a point to spend a lot of time together rather than get caught up in busy schedules.

Why We Want to Adopt: Over the past four and a half years after the birth of our daughter, Olivia, we have experienced the loss of four babies through miscarriage. We have had a desire to adopt since getting married, but we thought we would wait a bit longer to pursue it. As we realized that it would be difficult for us to have more biological children, we felt God leading us to adopt sooner than we had planned. We are so excited to add another child to our family and for Olivia to have a sibling.
